12lb Subterfuge Soft fluorocarbon can be used in any angling situation but particularly lends itself to fishing in clear water as its refractive index is almost identical to that of water making it almost invisible. Tied using the highly effective Talon Tip Hook which has a proven track record in Barbel fishing. The short shank, slightly beaked point and wide gape coupled with the heavier gauge steel make it ideal for hard fighting Barbel. By wrapping the cork ball in paste you create an effective Barbel catching rig. Using paste instead of hard baits you create an instant flavour trail for Barbel to home in on and by using a stiff paste you have an instantly highly attractive bait with a good leak off of flavours to draw Barbel to your hook bait. By removing the cork ball and replacing it with a boilie you can leave the bait in the water for longer and by wrapping the boilie with paste you still retain the pulling power, giving you the best of both worlds.
