Big method feeders can weigh up to 5oz or even 6oz so the rod used must have enough power or backbone to be a good casting tool. If the rod is under-gunned there not only will it not cast the distance and be inaccurate you and seriously over load it and risk breakage. However, while this rod can cast method feeders a comfortable distance it still has the necessary 'give' and semi-through action to be a very effective shock absorber helping to play and land big fish.
Suggested reel lines are in the range 5lb to 8lb although you could push that to 10lb as that might be necessary when fishing strong hook lenghts.
Supplied with slow taper glass Feedertips of 2oz, 3oz and 4oz with are ideal for the positive bites associated with fishing the method when carp are really feeding with abandon.
This 2 section rod can be made up ready for use and stored in its own padded rod sleeve which is supplied as standard. This rod sleeve has a small upper internal pocket to hold the spare Feedertips and the whole rod comes complete with three neoprene straps to help keep everything together. On the outside is a clear pocket containing a number of white waterproof labels so you can clearly mark what the rod is set up for.
