OSPREY AIRSTICK CURVED 20mm The Osprey Airstick Throwing Stick is manufactured in aircraft grade alloy and finished in powder coating for long life and durable finish. The Airstick will easily deal with boilies up to 20mm and will throw single or multiple baits with ease the Airstick features a "Sculptured "soft grip" handle complete with lanyard and adjuster for security and for storage when not in use.
The Airstick has a Skeletal frame allowing considerable weight reduction and significantly reducing arm strain when in use.
"Quick fire" bait loading port allowing the user to maintain the stick arm up at operating height during use and simply loading boilies just above the handle with the other hand, this feature allows a much more fluid action when you are putting bait out, keeping the stick arm in almost the same position for loading as for operating. This feature allows a much faster reload and without the conscious lowering of the stick and breaking the "rhythm" aids greater accuracy. Due to the skeletal design greater baiting range is achieved over a more conventional stick, this is due to the bait loading port ensuring that no vacuum is allowed to generate behind the boilie during it's movement up the tube, thus allowing greater boilie speed due to the bait not being dragged back or slowed.
Also due to the skeletal design of the Osprey airstick the full diameter tube section(barrel), any positive air pressure in front of the boilie during it's movement is not allowed to build up and slow the boilie within the tube, but is simply dissipated from the sides of the barrel. The alignment slots at the back of the tube aid and improve boilie spin whilst travelling up the tube (spin has a direct effect on boilie range once it has left the stick), this is achieved by the boilie "seating" within each slot and whilst in the slot having two point contact which is much improved when compared to skidding and slipping over a smooth bore traditional diameter. At the open end of the tube the slots incorporated into this section play a dual role.
Firstly due to the boilies "locating" centrally and consistently within the slot this allows greater accuracy to be achieved due the boilie being in a fixed path and not able to slip and slide across the inner face. Secondly due to the skeletal design throughout and the slots at the open end of the stick (the section that travels the greatest distance through air) air is simply passes through the stick during operation, this allows a much easier and lighter action for the user and also the slots at the open end allow all air captivated during the forward stroke to be released and not create a positive resisting pressure to the boilie coming up the stick.
